Kamtchatka for beginners 2016
This route is good for novices (without special physical training).
During the trip you’ll visit such unique places of Kamchatka as
active volcanoes Mutnovsky & Avachinsky, which are considered
to be the most beautiful volcanoes of Kamchatka; the unique and
wonderful Valley of Geysers – the World miracle.
You’ll be able to have a sea trip along Avacha Bay and the Pacific
Ocean and Valley of Geysers.
You’ll raft at the Bystraya river, which flows through stately mountain
range. You’ll be able to watch wild nature of Kamchatka: brown bear,
salmon motion at rivers, birds.
The tour will be guaranteed organized in all announced dates. The group consists of 16 people.
It is possible to join only for a part of the tour with individually program.
1st day. Arrival at the airport, transfer to
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (20km). Accommodation at a hotel (DBL),
rest. Strolls along the city
2nd day. Optional. On this day it is possible to go on a helicopter excursion to Geyser Valley and Uzon Caldera,
Walking excursion round Geyser Valley. Lunch is at Geyser Valley.
Or, Boat trip around Avacha Bay. Watching sea bird colonies of
Babushkin Kamen Island, Three Brothers Rocks. Going out into the Pacific
Ocean to Starichkov Island.
Watching the sea birds colony (incl. the white-shouldered eagle) which
is the biggest in Kamchatka. Sea fishing. Salmon lunch. (the cost is
3800 - 4000 rubles per person)
In the evening driving to Avachinsky volcano by “off road” car
(45km). Accomodation at the tour basis. Accommodation for a night in
houses, in rooms on 4 - 10 person.
3rd day. Ascent to Avachinsky volcano (2749m). Walk to
the young cone of volcano. From the edge of the volcano a stunning view
could be seen:
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski, Elizovo, valley of Avacha river and Avacha
Bay; Vilyuchinsky, Mutnovsky and Gorely volcanoes - to the south; the
valley of the Nalychevo river,
Zhupanovsky & Dzenzur volcanoes – to the north. The massive cone of
Koryak volcano is seen to the west. Ascent takes about 6-8 hours If the
climbing up is difficult for somebody,
it’s possible to return to the camp.
Accommodation for a night in houses.
4th day. Excursion walk on the slopes of Koryaksky volcano and to the mountain under the name “Camel” (4-5 hours).
Driving to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Accommodation at a hotel (DBL), rest.
5th day. Driving to the Bystraya river (120 km).
Beginning of rafting on floatable rafts. It takes place among grand
mountain ranges along the river with
some rapids. The nature is virtually unspoilt It’s secure for novices.
The diner at the fire, fish-soup. Spending the night in tents.
6th day. Rafting along the Bystraya river (2 rapids).
During rafting you can fish, pick some mushrooms and berries, and watch
birds and wild ducks, and
many other animals.If you are lucky enough, you’ll see a bear or a
Steller’s sea eagle. All those things make the rafting very interesting.
Spending the night in tents.
7th day. Rafting along the Bystraya river (1 rapid).
End of rafting. Driving to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (180km).
Accommodation at a hotel, rest.
8th day. Optional. On this day it is possible to go on a helicopter excursion to Geyser Valley and Uzon Caldera. Lunch is at Geyser Valley.
Or, Boat trip around Avacha Bay. Salmon lunch. (the cost is 3800 - 4000 rubles per person)
After the boattrip driving to Mutnovsky volcano by “off road” car (100km). Setting up the camp. Spending the night in tents.
9th day. Ascent to the crater of Mutnovsky volcano
(2323m). Seeing active fumaroles, mud siphons, mud craters, mountain
lake. The crater of volcano
Mutnovsky is one of the most wonderful volcanic phenomenon of Kamchatka.
Steep walls surround wide and deep crater, with shining glaciers.
Ascending takes 8 hours.
If it is difficult for somebody to ascend it’s possible to return to the
camp. Spending the night in tents.
10th day. Excursion to Gorely volcano (1829m), walk
along the coulee (hardened lava-stream), slag fields, seeing of 3
craters with lakes in it.
The excursion takes 8 hours. Driving to the recreation department in
the resort area “Paratunka”. Accommodation (DBL), rest, bathing
in swimming-pools with hot thermal water (hot springs).
11th day. Visiting the fish market. Shopping. Souvenirs. Departure to the airport.
The cost of this tour for 1 person is 1390.- eur
The extra pay for the accommodation in a single department is 290.- eur
The helicopter excursion to Geyser Valley and the Boat trip are held under favorable weather conditions and paid separately.
The cost of the helicopter excursion to the Valley of Geysers and
the caldera of volcano “Uzon” is 550.- eur.
The Boat trip cost is 100.- eur per person(the cost of 2014).
